Having lived in Park Royal for several years, I often wander through the area with my camera. Initially, I captured scenes that appealed to me without any particular theme or intention. It wasn't until I looked back through my images that I realised chairs kept appearing again and again. I began to associate the chairs with Park Royal itself. Found outside workshops, beside warehouses, or tucked into forgotten corners, they reflected the rhythms of work and day-to-day life. What first appeared as ordinary objects became reminders of the people who move through Park Royal daily.

As the photographs accumulated, they became an ongoing archive. Rather than seeing the chairs as functional items, I came to understand them as traces of human presence—objects suspended between use and abandonment, carrying stories of labour, routine, rest, and adaptation. The archive continues to grow, offering a record of the people and working lives that define the landscape of Park Royal.
